Why Inclusive Business Support Still Matters in 2025

It’s been a big year for us at Business Beyond Barriers. We’ve been busy redesigning our support, expanding our workshops, and refreshing the website — all to make sure disabled founders and people with long-term health conditions get the business support they actually need.

And if you’re reading this, chances are you already know: self-employment can be a powerful way to work around the barriers that exist in traditional employment — especially for those of us managing health, energy, or access needs.

But it’s not always easy. In fact, it rarely is.

We see it every day. Brilliant people with lived experience, trying to start something meaningful — only to be met with:

  • inaccessible funding systems

  • complicated benefit rules

  • long delays with things like Access to Work

  • advice that assumes full-time energy and capacity

That’s why we exist. To make business support work for you — not the other way around.

At Business Beyond Barriers, we’re not here to tell you to “scale fast” or “push through.” We’re here to:

  • help you build a business that fits your life

  • centre your wellbeing and values

  • offer honest, flexible support – not one-size-fits-all advice

  • connect you with people who understand what it’s like

Whether you’ve just had a business idea or you’ve been trading for years, there’s a place for you here.

What’s New in 2025?

✨ We’ve launched a refreshed Business Club – with co-working, workshops, and community
✨ We’ve expanded peer support sessions – including allotment groups and gentle reflective spaces
✨ We’ve updated all our coaching options – making them more flexible and accessible
✨ We’ve added loads more free content and connection spaces for people just starting out

This isn’t just about business. It’s about creating futures that feel possible. It’s about having spaces where your story is valid, your pace is respected, and your dreams are still on the table.

So whether you’re dreaming, planning, pausing, or growing — welcome back.

Let’s do business differently. Let’s do it together.
